Handcrafted Bamboo Fly Rods. 
My name is Jonathan Clarke and I am the owner and the maker of Twin Pines Rods. This picture is of me holding the first bamboo rod I ever made, and the first fish I caught on it. The place is Colorado.The fish is a little Brook Trout. The rod is a sweet little 6'3" 4wt, built as a three piece rod. This rod has seen years of service in the streams and has been cast by well over 100 fly fisherman during demonstrations.
The name "Twin Pines" is the name of a special fishing place that my Grandfather, Harold Colvin, showed me. It is a small stream, high in the Colorado mountains where he fished for over 70 years. This first rod was designed to fish this small mountain stream. As my friends and other anglers had an opportunity to cast this rod, I began to get requests to make rods for other people. What started out as a hobby has become a part time occupation for me. I enjoy making rods for other people. Every cane rod that I make puts me on the stream with the fisherman who will use it and allows me to be a part of their fly fishing experience.
After living in Florida for 15 years, I recently moved to Longmont, Colorado. I'm now close to the cold water fishing that I love. My workshop is packed away until I get settled in. Check back here for updates.
